Spoken Word Masterclass with Alice d’Lumiere
Tuesday 2nd April
How do you like to express yourself? How might you present yourself in words? Do you perform your own work and if not would you like to?
Writer/Performer Alice D’Lumiere is running a two hour Masterclass on solo spoken words and performance poetry. In the workshop, Alice will give a broad introduction to some of her working methods. Alice will share some of her current solo performance work, take a look at some classic poetry and invite you to experiment with spoken word performance of your own.
Performance artist, poet and occasional cabaret compere, Alice D’Lumiere has been a regular performer on the East Anglian arts scene for some years. She works now primarily as a Spoken Word Artist and Performance Poet. Her work is deeply personal, occasionally provocative but always playful and fundamentally celebratory. Her critically acclaimed gender themed solo – performance pieces “illuminating Alice” and “Speaking out and Fitting In!” were co-commissioned by Colchester and Norwich Arts Centres and supported by Arts Council England.
